Frequently Asked Question
Q1: What happens when a user presses the Wi-Fi button on a Brother printer?
When the Wi-Fi button is pressed, the printer shifts to wireless mode, automatically disabling the wired (Ethernet) connection. If the printer was previously set up for a wired connection—our preferred and more reliable option—this will cause it to lose network connectivity.
Q2: How can I restore the printer to a wired (Ethernet) connection?
Follow these steps to switch the Brother printer back to a wired connection:
Step 1: Disable Wireless Mode
1. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select Network, then Press OK.
2. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select WLAN, then Press OK.
3. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select WLAN Enable, then Press OK.
4. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select Off, then Press OK.
Step 2: Enable Wired Mode
1. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select Network, then Press OK.
2. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select Wired LAN, then Press OK.
3. Press the Up or Down arrow key to select Wired Enable, then Press OK.
4. Use the Up or Down arrow key to select ON, then Press OK.
